紋別市に駅はない。国鉄民営化2年後の1989年にJRは廃線（名寄線）。
都市間バス（道北バス＆中央バス）で旭川〜3時間、札幌〜4時間40分。
市内中心部から7kmに道営の紋別空港 （愛称：オホーツク紋別空港）
1999年11月11日11時11分開港。
