多能性の根拠となる画像が博士論文からのコピペとされ、取り下げ騒動にまで発展しているSTAP細胞論文。
他の画像の切り貼りに対し「やってはいけないという認識がなかった」などと述べ、博士論文にも大量のコピペが
疑われる筆頭著者・小保方リーダーが、早大時代にどんな博士論文審査や教育を受けたかまで問題視される
事態となっているが、早大の博士論文審査に新たな問題点が浮上した。
STAP論文の共著者で、博士論文の副査に名を連ねていたバカンティ・米ハーバード大教授が、Nature誌の
インタビューに対し、「小保方氏の博士論文は受け取っていない。読むよう頼まれてもいない」などとコメント
していたのである。
今のところ、バカンティ教授のコメントを裏付ける証言や証拠はないが、副査のコメントは重い。早大側の
コメント、審査が求められよう。
