米ベライゾン、ヤフーやAOLをアポロに売却 5400億円

【ニューヨーク=清水石珠実】米通信大手ベライゾン・コミュニケーションズは3日、傘下のネットメディア事業「ベライゾン・メディア」を買収ファンドの米アポロ・グローバル・マネジメントに売却することで合意したと発表した。ベライゾン・メディアは「ヤフー」「AOL」などのブランドを持つ。だが、本業の通信事業との相乗効果が薄く、ベライゾンは売却先を探していた。
アポロとの売却合意では、ベライゾン・メディアの企業価値は50億ドル（約5450億円）とした。ベライゾンが15年に米AOL、17年に米ヤフーを取得した際の買収額はそれぞれ44億ドル、約45億ドルだった。ベライゾンはネット企業の買収を通じて、フェイスブックとグーグルに次ぐ「ネット広告の第3の柱作り」に挑んだが、規模をうまく拡大できなかった。
ベライゾンは今回の売却で得た資金を5G通信網向けの投資などに回す計画だ。18年から同社を率いるハンス・ベストベリ最高経営責任者（CEO）は、通信とメディアの融合は目指さず、通信事業への投資に注力する戦略を持つ。
買収手続きは年内完了を目指す。また事業名はベライゾン・メディアからヤフーに変更する。買収合意によると、ベライゾンは現金42億5000万ドルなどを受け取ったうえで、手続き完了後は持ち株比率10%の少数株主となる。

Later, I talked about this experience to a Britishman, and he told me that some Japanese women believed that white man's semen improved women's health, and so they tried to seduce male foreigners from the West.
I don't know how they can bring forth such an absurd myth, but that reminds me of the queen in Eastern Europe, who believed that a virgin's blood was good for the health.,
